Pursuing Excellence, Embarking on a New Journey — Jiashan Glory Holds Phase II Lean Management Launc
On the morning of February 18, 2022, Jiashan Glory held the "Phase II Lean Management Launch Conference." Attendees included Group Chairman Deng Zehua, Jiashan Glory General Manager Weng Zhenqiang, mid-to-senior management, lean project consultants, the Lean Promotion Office team, and related personnel. The meeting was chaired by Lean Promotion Office Director Qiu Guoliang.
Director Qiu Guoliang of the Promotion Office first outlined the lean management project's organizational structure, team members, communication mechanisms, and incentive systems. Next, consultant Han Chunyan presented the project implementation plan, covering key metrics, core modules, timelines, and training schedules. She introduced foundational lean concepts, key principles, and the integrated "one-process-three-mechanisms" operational framework, providing attendees with initial clarity on Phase II's objectives, scope, and methodology.
Fang Yan, Manager of the Process Engineering Department and representative team leader of the project group, delivered a speech titled "Lean Starts from the Heart, Improvement Begins with Me." She emphasized the importance of implementing lean management, shared her understanding of "lean," and pledged to lead the team with unwavering determination, perseverance, and unity. She committed to full dedication, transforming mindsets, breaking old habits, executing diligently, cooperating earnestly, avoiding superficial efforts or empty talk, continuous learning, collective problem-solving, and sustained improvement to achieve the ultimate goals.
During the leadership address, Lü Quanxin, General Manager of Hangzhou Jingzhuo Enterprise Management Consulting Co., Ltd., outlined the significance of lean management for manufacturing enterprises in meeting customer demands and enhancing competitiveness, along with key implementation points. He emphasized that improving management standards is a long-term process, with lean management being a proven effective approach validated by leading enterprises. Additionally, he stressed the need for unified team effort, where subgroups and members establish incremental goals to collectively achieve overarching objectives.
Weng Zhenqiang, General Manager of Jiashan Glory, briefly reviewed the achievements of Phase I Lean Management: initial adoption of lean concepts, cleaner workshop environments, smoother workflows, reduced sales complaints, improved customer satisfaction, standardized inventory management, and over 300 improvement proposals. He acknowledged progress but emphasized significant room for improvement, noting gaps compared to top enterprises in the Yangtze and Pearl River Deltas.
Weng outlined key requirements for lean implementation:Recognize its necessity: Leverage external expertise to reevaluate current practices, drive breakthroughs, and modernize employee knowledge, management, and mindset.Actively participate: Team leaders and managers must adopt a "beginner’s mindset," learn from consultants, and become trainers to propagate lean practices across departments.Measure with data: Replace subjective judgments with metrics. Break down overarching goals into team-specific targets.Expose and resolve issues: Reward employees who identify problems and propose actionable solutions.
Finally, Deng Zehua, Chairman of Glory Group, delivered a speech. He briefly analyzed the domestic and international economic situation, noting that under the triple pressures of contracting demand, supply shocks, and weakening expectations, enterprises cannot alter the external environment. The only actionable path is to enhance the company's core competitiveness—currently centered on cost reduction and innovation. Lean management serves as an effective approach to achieve both, making "cost reduction + innovation" Glory Group's key focus for 2022.
The Chairman pointed out that while Phase I lean management results fell short of expectations, the company remains committed to deepening lean initiatives in 2022, with an unwavering pursuit of management excellence. As the flagship factory, Jiashan Gaoyu must not only become a benchmark for Glory Group but also export management expertise. With headquarters' elevated standards, it must guide subsidiaries to improve—a core expectation from the Board. He expressed confidence that the lean project team, under Manager Weng’s leadership and Jingzhuo consultants’ guidance, would deliver strong outcomes.
To conclude the conference, all attendees, led by General Manager Weng, took an oath and signed a commitment pledge, demonstrating their unwavering resolve to implement lean management. Upholding the core values of "Innovation, Pragmatism, Efficiency, and Win-Win," they pledged to lead by example, act promptly, pursue excellence, and drive continuous improvement—dedicating their efforts to standardize onsite management and elevate the company’s precision management standards.
